Governance and Management
CANCO operates through a dual structure, the Board and the Management, which have separate but complimentary roles.
The Board
The Board consists of a team of nine elected members, comprising of 4 male and 5 female and led by a Board Chair, Honorary Treasurer and Board Secretary. The latter is also the Executive Director of the organization. The board provides policy direction to the organization and continuously advice the management in ensuring that CANCO fulfills its legal responsibility, be credible and maintain good reputation. In addition, the board has continuously assisted the management in resource mobilization and fundraising.
The Management
The Management of CANCO is responsible for the implementation of the organizational policy set and ensuring that works effectively and efficiently by translating and implementing the mission into achievable program objectives and activities. The management is under the team leadership of an Executive Director The Director is responsible for building sustainability of the organizations, programs and projects effectiveness and efficiency as well as managing relationships with staff, project beneficiaries, partners, government, and donors. Currently CANCO has 10 staff members and 4 volunteers. The staff manages CANCO’s projects, Management and Administration portfolio of the organization. CANCO has 3 offices, in Nairobi, Eldoret and Mombasa.
