Program Manager : Oil, Gas and Mining Program

Muturi Kamau is the Oil, Gas and Mining Program Manager at Community Action for Nature Conservation (CANCO). He is also the National Network Coordinator for the Kenya Oil and Gas Working Group (KOGWG), a public interest network which is convened and has been hosted by CANCO since inception in 2009.

He holds a Bsc. in Disaster Management and International Diplomacy from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. He is also a member of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) and holds oil and gas certifications from HSE International, International Human Resource Development Corporation (IHRDC), NeXT, a Schlumberger company and Petroleum Management and Administration (PETRAD). He is the co-author of the Rapid Risk Assessment Reports for the Early Oil Pilot Scheme (EOPS), the proposed Lamu Lokichar Crude Oil Pipeline (LLCOP) and Foundation Stage Development (FSD) of the South Lokichar oil basin. When he isn’t working, he spends time listening to reggae music. He is also a collector of unique African art pieces and loves watching retro movies.
